Tex Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art that means “THE WAY OF KICKING AND PUNCHING.” Ms. Reeve’s instructor is Grandmaster J. Pat Burleson, National Champion and student of Jhoon Rhee, the father of Tae Kwon Do in America. She came up in the Texas “Blood ‘N Guts” era.

Unlike Olympic Tae Kwon Do, our Tex Kwon Do style places less emphasis on high kicks and more emphasis on the practical aspects of martial arts. We place strong emphasis on forms (kata), self defense, and kumite (sparring). This is a well-rounded approach to martial arts, and most people will progress from white to black belt in 3 to 4 years.

Our program also teaches self-confidence, self-esteem, focus, respect and indomitable spirit.  It is a great style for kids and adults alike and helps build strong and healthy family relationships.

Class times are varied and feature separate or mixed adults and children plus a special “families-only” class.

Tex Kwon Do is your style if you are looking for:

  • Positive life skills such as self confidence, focus and respect.
  • A great cardio workout
  • A clear cut path from white belt to
    black belt and beyong

defense and the “art” part of the
    martial arts
  • FUN!
